Simian delivers the powerful message through her story that regardless of the people or circumstances around you, doing the right thing and maintaining integrity is a rule and essentially an aspect of morality that supersedes all other feelings and actions; even if someone makes a mistake or commits a crime, it is more important to confess and tell the truth to uphold a strong, pure reputation than to lie or blame someone else and feel guilty afterwards.
